Shortlisting success for St Martins development!

Our St Martins development has been shortlisted for Community Impact Project of the Year at the Cowgills North West Homebuilder Awards!

Redwing collaborated with M&Y Maintenance and Construction, The Regenda Group and the Parish Church Council of Broughton to bring to market, let and manage 14 affordable homes in Fulwood, Preston, alongside an energy-efficient new-build chapel and parish hall for the local community.

The development built by M&Y Maintenance and Construction saw 5 houses and 9 apartments constructed for Rent to Buy through Redwing on previously unused land around the chapel.

We worked closely with the Parish to focus on the development's social impact, organising volunteering days for Redwing and M&Y staff to assist with planting and landscaping for the chapel building, making donations to local food banks, and promoting spending within the local supply chain. We also collaborated with local schools to introduce young people to careers in construction and regeneration.

These new homes are an affordable step onto the property ladder for local residents in an area where house prices are high.

The new energy-efficient chapel includes accessible facilities for the community and the new parish hall is regularly used by groups including a youth group, choir, knitting group, and a range of training courses and is open as a Warm Welcome Space each week.

Derrick, one of the new home residents shared:
“We found our perfect property! Redwing were always available to answer our questions and provide guidance. We are beyond grateful and love our new home!”

Ella Lowe, Property Manager for St Martins said:
“From working closely with local partners to helping customers onto the property ladder, we put communities at the heart of everything we do, so we’re delighted to be shortlisted for the Community Impact Project of the Year award!”
